    The State Association of Township Supervisors represents over 1400 member townships in the state, working to strengthen town governments and increase visibility in state and federal politics. Services include legal services, new laws reporting, training programs, and publications.     The Center for Rural Pennsylvania is a legislative agency serving as a resource for rural policy within the general assembly. The center works with executive agencies, and federal, regional, and community organizations to serve Pennsylvania's rural citizens. Services include awarding grants, maintaining and disseminating information, publishing research and project reports, and sponsoring forums on rural issues. The center's web site includes state and county demographic profiles, grant information, press releases, news and upcoming events, and a listing of rural resources.     The mission of the Community Action Association of Pennsylvania is to provide a statewide voice to local Community Action Programs and the poor of Pennsylvania to addresse the public policy issues of the low income population of Pennsylvania. The site also includes two online newsletters: Bulletin, a bi-weekly newsletter covering legislative issues, and Clipboard, a bi-weekly newsletter covering non-legislative issues.     The Department of Community and Economic Development is a state department responsible for advancing Pennsylvanians' quality of life by fostering opportunities for businesses and communities to succeed and thrive in a global economy. Its programs include services to businesses, communities, and local governments; tourism; and statewide programs. The department's web site includes information on starting a business, technological services, exporting, workforce and technology development, locating and expanding businesses, and PennPORTS transportation and shipping information. Community information includes neighborhood and community building, economic development, housing and infrastructure, manufactured housing, floodplain management, and information about publications. Some publications are available online in PDF format; others may be ordered through the web site. Information for local governments includes information on training services, land use, municipal statistics, Local Government Day, and links to individual municipalities. Tourism information is linked through the state tourism department's web site. Within each page are numerous links to internal and external sites for specific projects or related organizations, including workforce development, census, enterprise zone projects, environmental projects and organizations, and community development projects.     Pennsylvania Farm Bureau is a non-governmental, voluntary farm and rural organization working to promote and represent the interests of over 27,000 farm and rural families in Pennsylvania.  Its web site offers information on the organization, member benefits, and county farm bureaus; news; state agriculture information; weather and markets reports; and upcoming conferences and events.  It also contains classifieds, information on RuraLife internet access, and links to other related sites.

    The Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance is the regional development agency serving seven counties in the northeastern region.     The North Central Commission serves six counties in north central Pennsylvania.     The Northwest Commission serves eight counties in northwestern Pennsylvania, providing direct services to business and industry as well as supporting economic development programs throughout the region. Services include business financing, government procurement, international marketing, and manufacturing productivity enhancements. They also offer a regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, entrepreneurship assistance, telecommunications planning, transportation planning, and GIS analysis and mapping. The web site offers information on those services, plus microloans, Pennsylvania SourceNet, Workforce 2000, Keystone Enterprise Zones, upcoming events, and location information.     The Southern Alleghenies Commission serves six counties, addressing human resource development, encouraging the creation and retention of jobs, and seeking to improve the quality of life for the region's residents.     SEDA Council of Governments is a regional, multi-county development agency providing leadership, expertise, and services to communities, businesses, institutions, and residents, enhancing growth while maintaining the region's predominantly rural character. The council web site includes links to data on the region available from the Pennsylvania State Data Center; information on the council, including its history, mission, and board and staff; and public notices and notices of properties available.     Team Pennsylvania is a public-private partnership formed by the governor to bring together business, government, and community and economic development leaders to assist with high-profile projects, shape economic development strategies, and present a unified state image. The private sector component, the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, is a private nonprofit foundation using private funds to lessen the economic development cost to taxpayers, decrease unemployment, and aid in business development. The web site offers information about Team Pennsylvania and the Foundation, including mission, history, board information, and news. It also describes programs and services, in areas including the Business Resource Network, the Business Calling Program, the Human Resources Investment Council, the Entrepreneurial Assistance Network, Cooperative Marketing, the Export Assistance Network, the Ambassador Program, the Governor's Action Team, and Pennsylvania Career Link.
