Vermont is a nonprofit, fee-for-service research
organization which addresses social, economic, and resource-based problems
of rural people and communities, providing consulting and research services
in Vermont, nationwide, and internationally. Research areas include
agriculture, human services, economic development, energy, and environment/natural
resources. The
center's web site has information about the center, what it does, where
it is located, and who its staff and clients are. It also includes information
within each research subject area, including reports, data, and projects.
The site also contains the Vermont Community Data Bank, listing social
and economic factors for every town in the state, as well as county

is a state agency responsible for issues including economic development,

the Department of Housing and Community Affairs, provides financial
and technical assistance to identify and address local community needs

and application forms, explanation of grant types, and eligibility information;
national and state objectives; and relevant legislation.

site details current projects, including their study of systemic issues

Economic Development. It includes sections on doing business in Vermont,

Developments, available on the site. The site also includes a
subscription form for receiving the newsletter by email. The site lists

With over 4,200 member families, Vermont Farm Bureau
is the state's largest non-profit trade association for farmers and
foresters. They serve as legislative advocates on a variety of issues
related to farming, forestry, and rural development, and provide financial
and family benefits to members. Their web
site includes information about the Farm Bureau, member benefits, current
legislative positions, information for teachers, and county farm bureaus.

The Division of Historic Preservation is a state
agency division providing services in historic preservation and planning,
including site registry, informational services, assistance with investment

partnership of government, education, and business, working to improve

The Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund is a private non-profit
corporation created by the state legislature for the purpose of creating
and retaining quality jobs and conserving Vermont's social and natural
resources. The Jobs Fund works with Vermont businesses through a program
of grants and technical assistance to identify under-valued resources,
to develop value-added products cooperatively, and to enter better markets
with those products, focusing specifically on value-added forestry and
agricultural products in addition to new sector industries. The fund's web site includes information about the jobs
