Description: The Connecticut Judicial Branch website provides public access to Supreme Court and Appellate Court opinions prior to their publication in the Connecticut Law Journal. The "officially released" date that appears near the beginning of each opinion is the date the opinion will be published in the Connecticut Law Journal or the date it was released as a slip opinion. A searchable archive of court opinions is also available.

Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation

Description: Established in 1975 as a non-profit organization by Special Act of the Connecticut General Assembly, the Connecticut Trust's mission is to preserve the character and ensure the vitality of Connecticut's historically significant places. Through education, advocacy, collaboration and support, the Trust assists residents and community organizations throughout the state to preserve, protect, and revitalize Connecticut's historically significant communities.

Description: The Connecticut General Statutes (Section 13b-31b) define a state scenic road as one that (a) passes through agricultural land or abuts land on which is located a historic building or structure listed on the National Register of Historic Places or the State Register of Historic Places, or (b) affords vistas of marshes, shorelines, forests with mature trees, or notable geologic or other natural features. The road shall have a minimum length of one mile and shall abut development which is compatible with its surroundings. Such development must not detract from the scenic or natural character or visual qualities of the road area.

Quinebaug-Shetucket Heritage Corridor

Description: In 1994, because many civic groups, businesses, volunteers and local and state governments banded together with technical assistance from the National Park Service, Congress recognized the Quinebaug and Shetucket Rivers Valley National Heritage Corridor and designated the region as a unique national resource. And in 1999, because of the same kind of grassroots efforts, Congress enlarged the National Heritage Corridor to include towns in the Quinebaug and Shetucket Rivers Valley in both Massachusetts and Connecticut.
