Description:
The Center for Rural Massachusetts was established at the University of
Massachusetts in 1985 because a new set of problems had arisen in the
rural part of the state, driven by rapid economic growth in urban areas,
a widespread belief that uncontrolled growth posed a major threat to natural
and built rural environments, major changes in the rural economy, and

Citizens' Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA) is the non-profit umbrella

Description:
CEDAC is a public-private, community development finance institution that

Description:
The Community Preservation Act (CPA) is a new tool to help communities
preserve open space and historic sites and create affordable housing.
This web site has been created to assist individuals and municipalities
in understanding and implementing the CPA. The CPA Website is maintained
by the Community Preservation Coalition, an alliance of open space, affordable
housing, and preservation organizations that works with municipalities
