Description: The cultural resources homepage for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is designed to accomplish a number of important goals. First, it's intended to provide visitors with an overview of the Department's cultural resources program. It's also intended as a vehicle to disseminate the results of our archaeological investigations, bridge and structures inventories and recordations, and other research results. The site should also help to further some of our most important management goals such as the marketing of historic bridges scheduled for replacement, and gathering public comment on our program and our projects.

Artists live and work in the buildings that the city or developers have often forgotten, and now that Providence is becoming a hip town, or a suburb of Boston, these buildings and the artists, musicians and businesses who use them are getting used for purposes that do not contribute to the community in the same way. Description: The Vermont Historic Bridge Program exists for the preservation of historic covered bridges, metal truss bridges, masonry arch bridges, and concrete arch bridges, and it establishes separate divisions within the parent program. The Program and its divisions call attention to the fact that Vermont's historic bridges are resources of distinct value to the state, with particular benefits and also particular problems. The Program explicitly recognizes that there are economic, aesthetic, and educational benefits achieved by preserving a meaningful collection of different types of historic bridges, and that these benefits far outweigh costs associated with preserving these bridges.
