The West Virginia Land Cover/ Land Use Mapping Project is intended to
provide low cost current land cover and land use information to state
agencies, local and regional organizations, development authorities, planning
commissions, and utility boards in West Virginia and the Appalachian Region.
In addition, new imagery can be acquired using a variety of technologies
to any specific image scale, season, resolution, and registration requirements.
The project can provide data in formats and to specifications established
by the participating organization using the best existing or new imagery.

construction, operation and closure of hazardous and solid waste and underground
storage tank sites. In addition, the Division works to protect, restore,
