
Penn State Land Use Webinar Series continues in August with focus on small farms and green infrastructure

The 2025 Penn State Land Use Webinar Series, organized by Penn State Extension in partnership with the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Planning Association (PA-APA) and the NERCRD, will continue this fall with a series of five webinars. The first two webinars in the series will take place in August.

Event Details
Participate in this series of five sessions to gain insight into the current events in the community and interact with others about ongoing community projects. Registrants can select to attend individual sessions based on their interest. Sessions include:
- August 6, 12:00 – 1:15 p.m. ET — The economic impact of small farms: What it means for community plans and planners. Presented by Tim Kelsey (Penn State) and Ted Ritsick (Hailstone Economics)
- August 20, 12:00 – 1:15 p.m. ET — Local Ordinances and Green Infrastructure in Pennsylvania. Presented by Christine Kirchhoff and Bhavik Gupta (Penn State).
- September 17, 12:00 – 1:15 p.m. ET — Solar Energy Update for Municipal Officials. Presented by Matt Svetz and Rob Davidson (Penn State Extension).
- October 15, 12:00 – 1:15 p.m. ET — Stormwater Management Planning and Community Trees – Green Infrastructure for the Future. Presented by Vincent Cotrone (Penn State Extension).
- November 19, 12:00 – 1:15 p.m. ET — Practical AI for Community Development & Planning: Tools, Tips, and Useful Everyday Applications. Presented by Jim Ladlee and John Turack (Penn State Extension)
Fees
Fees vary based on the number of sessions you’ll attend and the credits that you may or may not be seeking. Please visit the event home page and click on the “Fees” tab for more information (coming soon).
Credits Available (Pending Approval)
Professional credits are offered through the PA-APA Chapter of the American Planning Association. Each webinar is 1.25 Credits or 6.25 Credits for the series.

Registration is required to receive the link to access the webinar.
A link to the recorded webinar will be emailed to registrants within ten business days after the live event. The recording will be accessible for six months from the event date.
